You need to realize here that accepting Jesus as your Savior without understanding the role of John the Baptist will only turn you into a practitioner of a worldly religion. No matter how ardently you may believe in Jesus as your Savior, you cannot be washed from your sins unless you acknowledge that the sins of the world were passed onto Jesus Christ when John the Baptist baptized Him, and that Jesus shouldered them all at once through His baptism. As those who have received the remission of sins, we believe that John the Baptist played a mediating role between God and us and that Jesus bore all our sins by being baptized by John, died on the Cross, rose up from the dead, and has thereby saved us forever. And it is because of this Truth that we are able to live out our faith despite our weaknesses, and stand even more firmly on our faith in the gospel of the water and the Spirit. Otherwise it is absolutely impossible.
