Many people still do not fully realize their true sinful selves, and this is often the reason why they cannot grasp the great love of the Lord. If you are unable to feel or experience God’s love, then this is evidence of the fact that you still do not realize just how really evil you are. How well do we know ourselves? It’s absolutely indispensable for us to realize just how insufficient we are before God. We should all be thankful to God and praise Him for bestowing His grace of salvation upon people such as us. That’s because, although we were sinners doomed to be bound by sin and face the judgement of Hell forever, God made us perfectly righteous, sinless people through Jesus Christ.

The Lord Himself said about us human beings in Mark 7:21-23, “For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lewdness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness. All these evil things come from within and defile a man.” Here, the Lord is explaining what kinds of sins human beings commit all the time, and how they have become depraved sinners. Through this passage we should be able to once again realize our true selves, something we might have not known or had tried to forget. And with this understanding, we can run towards the Lord who was baptized by John the Baptist in order to wash away the sins of our entire lifetime; the sin of the world ???? (John 1:29).
