The entire Bible is not easily understood. Yet, through the Word of God we can understand who we are as human beings, where we come from and where we will go eventually. We must know the love of God though the gospel of the water and the Spirit, for the love of God is revealed in this gospel Truth.
In the Old Testament, daily sins were passed on to the sin offering through the 'laying on of hands'. The yearly sins of all Israel were also passed on to the goat by the high priests 'laying on of hands' on the Day of Atonement, which fell on the tenth day of the seventh month every year (Leviticus 16:29-31).
In like manner, the sins of the world had to be passed on to Jesus through the 'laying on of hands' performed at His baptism from the high priest John the Baptist. This was fulfilled so that Jesus could bear our sins upon His body as the Lamb of God and carry them to the Cross to shed His blood to make atonement for all our sins once and for all.
Thus the baptism of Jesus was the beginning of God’s salvation of humanity as well as the righteous act of Jesus that washed away all the sins of the world. God redeems all who believe in the truth that Jesus took away all the sins of the world through His baptism.
