Just as the sins of the Israelites in the Old Testament were passed onto their sacrificial animal without fail when the High Priest layed his hands on the sacrificial animal, so too did Jesus come to this earth as the Lamb of God and as our own offering of sacrifice, He accepted all the sins of the world through the baptism given by John the Baptist when he laid his hands on Him in the Jordan River. (Leviticus 16:21=Matthew 3:15)

This is the Law of Atonement which was forshadowded and written in detail throughout the Old Testament for our sake, so we would, without doubt understand the pattern of salvation and how Jesus would break down the wall of sin which separated us inherent, hell bound sinners from the Holy God and reconcile us back to Him.

This is so crystal clear. Yet even so, people still do not believe in it and refuse to give up their faith that is placed in only the blood of Jesus despite the fact that God tells us clearly that our sins were transfered onto Jesus, not on the Cross, but at His baptism from John which is why the Aposlte John tells us explicitly that Jesus came by "Water, blood and the Spirit" (1John 5:6-8)

Yet just like the Pharisees, many reject the Word of truth and instead cling to their own traditions, rejecting the word that gives eternal life.
