This Truth is the very fact that the Lord has saved you and me perfectly from all our sins through the gospel of the water and the Spirit. When we hear the Word of the gospel of the water and the Spirit which is the Truth, we must first go through the process of verifying it in our hearts whether it is the true gospel or not. We must examine it in the Word of the Lord, questioning,
“Which is the true gospel? Am I really a person that can receive salvation from the sins of the world by believing in this gospel of the water and the Spirit? Or, can I receive salvation even if I do not believe in this gospel of the water and the Spirit? What kind of person am I really before the presence of God?”
And if I come to think that the gospel of the water and the Spirit is true, then I must not hesitate any longer and accept it into my heart.
Our sincere hearts that seeks to learn the Truth in the Word of God makes us become "good ground that bears fruit: some thirty fold, some sixty, and some a hundred." (Mark 4:20) Someone who knows the Word of God and has accepted the Word into his heart receives salvation through the Lord who was baptized by John the Baptist to wash away the sin of the world, crucified to pay the wages of those sins and rose from the dead the third day.
