Because of the sins we inherited from our ancestors from the day we were born in this world, we had already been dead spiritually (Eph 2:1).

From the moment we were born on this earth, our lives had already drifted far away from God on account of our sins (Isaiah 59:1-2).

We were all born with the inevitable destiny that doomed us to be estranged from God and live under curses. Because all human beings are born as sinners by their very nature, they are all destined to live as sinners for the rest of their lives, only to be judged for their sins at the end of their lives and go to the place to which every sinner must go. 

Like this, because everyone is born with a rebellious heart to stand against God and is inevitably sinful, you and I can be saved only if we believe in the gospel Word of the water and the Spirit with our hearts, that Jesus Christ has blotted out all our sins once and for all. He was baptized by John the Baptist to receive our sins and crucified, shedding His blood to pay for our sins. But He rose from the dead on the third day and has thus opened the way to the Kingdom of Heaven for all who believe in His gospel of water, blood and the Spirit which is according to the Scriptures (1 Corinthians 15:3-5).
